State park permits required for all vehicles entering the park. $7 per day, $35 per year.
Description
Gaze and wonder as you listen to the stories of the sky as told by astronomer Mike Lynch. Make the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show in the skies over Southwest Minnesota. Get to know constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and others. Constellation mythological stories will be featured as well as the opportunity to look through giant telescopes aimed at Saturn, star clusters, galaxies, and more.
Mike Lynch is a retired WCCO meteorologist and has been hosting Minnesota Starwatch programs for over 50 years. He also writes a weekly stargazing column for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and is the author of the book Stars, a Month-by-Month Tour of the Constellations.
