PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT SESSION

This event will start with a great 30 to 40 minute presentation on Professionalism at the Workplace led by Marcy Heemeyer, Vice President of Human Resources at North Star Mutual Insurance. The presentation will be followed by a professional headshot session with three very talented photographers from our Marshall community, Autumn Keel (Keel Photography), Courtney Bicknese (Courtney Bicknese Photography) and Chelbi West (CL Photography). Marcy Heemeyer

As the saying goes, Professionalism is not the job you do, it’s how you do the job.

People want to work at organizations where they are surrounded by colleagues who act professionally. Sounds simple, right? Imagine the impact on your organization when every team member models standards of excellence through professional words, actions, and attitudes. During the Lunch & Learn, we’ll explore the importance of professional self-knowledge, examine how professionalism has changed over the years, and acknowledge the impact and influence of leadership.

Marcy Heemeyer is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at North Star Mutual Insurance Company. She brings more than two decades of experience working at organizations of various size and scope in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Heemeyer currently sits on the board of directors for Prairie Home Hospice and is the Business Advisory Council Chair for the North Star Mutual School of Business at SMSU. She is also part of the Women’s Connect Steering Committee, is an Ambassador for Ronald McDonald House Charities, member of the YMCA Capital Campaign Task force, and serves as an Alumni Mentor for her alma mater, South Dakota State University.
