The planning for Sounds of Summer 2011, an exciting four-day community celebration August 18-21, 2011 in Marshall is well underway. With musical entertainment, the always-popular splash party, and plenty of food, our annual celebration is geared towards family fun. We’re also partnering with SMSU Smokefest, and Shades of the Past to bring in some new and exciting events. The highlight of this celebration is our grand parade on Saturday August 20th. Saturday evening will be our popular outdoor concert featuring a return performance by the Cavemen & Tillie and Time Bombs, with food and fun for the entire family.
This community celebration would not be possible without the support and generosity of the Marshall Area Community. As we continue to plan for Sounds of Summer 2011, your help is needed to make our celebration a success. We ask that you consider how you, your business, or organization can help. Here are just a few examples.
- Provide your financial support. Your contribution, of any amount is fully tax-deductable as we are a 501(c) 3, organization
- Provide in-kind services, such as labor to help with moving picnic tables, assist with serving food, having your group and/or organization participate in the parade.
- Become involved! The SOS committee meets the second Monday of every month at the YMCA at 7:00 p.m.
