Free MasonicChips KID's ID Program
Delta Lodge #119 is hosting a free Kids ID safety program on July 19, 2012 from 9:00 am until 5:00pm at Wells Fargo Bank. The Kid's ID Program is sponsored and funded by the local Masonic lodge, Marshall Downtown Business Association, and Marshall Sounds of Summer.
The Program works closely with local law enforcement, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the "Take 25" program, which seeks to educate both parents and children about the issues of child abductions and prevention.
This worthwhile event takes approximately 10 minutes, during which time each child's characteristics are recorded on a CD, to include: physical description, digital fingerprints, profile photos, video recording with voice recognition which goes into an envelope along with a cheek swab, for DNA and two (2) laminated ID cards for the kids to carry at an event like the state or county fairs, Disneyland, etc. Parents are given all of the information for safe-keeping. No information is retained or kept by the organizers of the event except a signed authorization form by the legal guardian. There is no "Data-Base" kept by anyone. In the event that a child would go missing, the parents can give their CD, with all of their child's pertinent information to a law-enforcement officer.
Your child's safety is important to us, to your family and to our community. There is no charge for this program. Many parents are having their children go through this program each year so as to have the pictures, video and audio current.
This advanced identification program was developed from the needs of the FBI and National Missing and Exploited Children's Foundation. The United States Secret Service, FBI, CIA, Minnesota Sheriffs Assn., Minnesota Chiefs of Police Assn., Minnesota Dental Assn. have all said that this is the most comprehensive child identification program in the nation to date. There will be people from all around our community helping to put this program together for our children in our community.
