Description
On this day in Mankato, MN., Bruce Bednarchuk will be dedicating a symphonic piece to his grandmother which he composed exclusively for The Mankato Symphony Orchestra. It is a musical depiction of her escape from Russian soldiers in her homeland of Ukrania, her survival through The Baltics and ultimately her journey and arrival to The United States through Ellis Island.
She always said "Tell no one you are Russian. You are not Russian, you are Ukranian and one day Ukrania will be a sovereign land again".
