The Southwestern Center for Independent Living (SWCIL) in Marshall, MN is currently accepting resumes for a full-time Independent Living Specialist working in Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray and Nobles Counties of Minnesota. SWCIL is an independent living resource center that works to promote societal acceptance, inclusion, and equal access for all persons with disabilities.

Primary job functions include: providing IL skills training, advocacy assistance, career consultation, and peer counseling services to youth in schools and adults in the community. Must be able to work independently, have knowledge of disabilities and their characteristics, reliable transportation, and pass a criminal background study. Persons with disabilities are strongly urged to apply.

Minimum qualifications: four-year degree in a human/social services or related field or a two-year degree in a human/social services field combined with one year of experience in a disability-related position. Educational requirements may be substituted by experience with disabilities/disability services. Remote officing options but must reside in SW MN and travel to provide services within local communities.
 
Starting wage: $17.50 - $21 per hour based on education and experience
Shift: 8am – 4:30pm Mo-Fri
