Payroll & Benefits Specialist

Runnings is a fast-growing retail chain with 90 stores and five distribution centers in 12 states.  Currently we have a career opportunity in our Retail Support Center for a Full-Time Payroll & Benefits Specialist. 

Job Duties include:
Payroll:

  1. Support the full life cycle of the employee, including but not limited to onboarding, job and pay changes, and terminations.
  2. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  3. Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
  4. Prepare and process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  5. Reconcile payroll prior to payment and confirm reports.
  6. Confirm that legally mandated and optional deductions have been processed correctly.
  7. Process accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting.
  8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws.
  9. Compile and submit payroll deductions related check requests and payments.
Benefits:
  1. Process and administer employee benefit deductions (including health, dental, and life insurance, 401(k)
  2. Process and reconcile invoices for payment for all vendors and insurance carriers related to benefits and retirement plans.
  3. Prepare and generate required reports, for both payroll and benefit information.
  4. Provide support and respond to employee inquiries related to benefits.
  5. Any and all other duties as assigned by Manager.
Pay Range:  $20.00 - $26.00 Depending on experience.  This is a full-time position offering a competitive compensation and benefits package including health, dental, life, FSA, 401k with match, a generous employee discount program, and more.
