Youth Skills Training Zoom Call

Description

Shanda Walker, Community Engagement Coordinator for Marshall Public Schools will be hosting a Zoom session for local businesses to learn more about the Youth Skills Training (YST) Grant. The goal of the YST (Youth Skills Training) Program is to provide 16-18 year old student learners with safe, healthy, and meaningful paid work experience in high-growth, high-demand industries to assist our region in filling workforce gaps and retain local talent. Students will leave the program with: high school credits, paid experience, and an industry-recognized certification.
 
As a YST -approved school, Marshall Public Schools is working to add to our roster of YST approved employers in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Automotive, and Healthcare to provide the paid work experiences for our students. 
 
This Zoom call will cover the benefits of the program for students, schools, and employers, as well as outline the steps taken to become a YST approved employer. A Q&A will be available after.
