Logistics Systems Manager

We are hiring a Logistics System Manager within our Corporate Logistics Transportation team in Minnesota. If you consider yourself to be an expert in BluJay TMS systems we want to hear from you! In this role you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to optimize logistics and freight performance through the application of BluJay TMS systems, information and/or process improvements. This position will also lead projects and ongoing technology planning for Transportation by creating plans and documenting requirements to enable achievement of business unit strategic goals.

  • Leverage BluJay transportation management software (TMS) to optimize freight loads of finished goods and raw materials and the freight network to reduce overall freight costs and increase business performance

  • Review system capabilities to align with business output and reporting needs for both domestic and International shipping.

  • Modify system optimization settings to ensure proper load/tour building, load rating, schedules, while honoring all pre-loaded business constraints.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to understand supply chain business strategy and recommend technical/automation solutions

  • Assist with vetting proposed process improvements or changes for potential business impacts

  • Identify system integration, customization, or enhancement opportunities and manage implementation and project execution

  • Partner with and acts as department liaison with vendors and internal partners to leverage system capabilities

  • Train Transportation team members on process, system optimization, and reporting

  • Analyze reporting to ensure cost savings in areas such as load count reduction, loaded cost per mile, miles driven, and cost per pound. Make recommendations on shipping frequency, order timing, and freight plan as needed to drive department metrics and company goals

  • Supervise logistics technician(s) and train on system capabilities
  • Monitor systems for maximum up time
  • Supervises, trains and develops subordinates

What we need from you:

Years of Experience:  5+ years related experience; Experience in supply chain and/or technology preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or work experience

  • MUST HAVE experience working with BluJay Transportation Management Systems experience

  • Understanding of supply chain optimization and freight cost and service impacts. Experience with load tracking software is also preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of systems development principles; Advanced change management, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Proficient in the operation of a personal computer in a Windows environment to include the Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

  • Advanced project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

  • Excellent customer service skills; teamwork focus; strong organizational skills; must be willing and able to travel up to 15% of time
