Salary and Terms:  Probationary, full time position. Salary placement is based on evaluation of experience. 
Appointment Date:  June 17, 2019 or a date to be negotiated

Position Description:  The Assistant Athletic Director for Game Environment, Ticketing and Athletic Development responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lead, plan, direct and assess all game management/environment responsibilities for SMSU home athletic events (18 sports) and high school athletic contests with a focus on improving of game environment, customer service, fan experience and revenue generation. Direct the athletic ticket process working with athletic staff members, Mustang Boosters and season ticket holders. Manage and organize special events within the Office of Athletic Development and Mustang Booster Club to support fund raising, community engagement and athletic development. Lead, organize, hire and train the student, staff and volunteer based work force to execute all game management and special events operations held by the department of athletics. This position is responsible for the fiscal operation and processes of ticket sales and fund raising revenues.
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Sports Management or a related field required. Three years of professional work experience in the field of sports management, game and/or event operation, athletic administration, ticket sales/advertising or related field with at least two years the experience working in a NCAA athletic department, athletic conference office, foundation department or related field required.
  • Ability to supervise a diverse group of employees.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or NSIC rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and success in managing ticket sales, marketing and promotion, financial reporting, and customer service strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with computers and their applications is required.
