DESCRIPTION:You're invited to the December Marshall Area Young Professionals Luncheon\n\n\n\nWhen: Tuesday\, December 15th\, 2015\n\nFrom 12:00-1:00 pm \n\n\n\nUnited Way Learning & Volunteer Experience\n\n\n\nLearning:\n\nDemo of Get Connected\; an online volunteer platform that directly connects potential volunteers with programs and organizations needing help throughout SW MN. Learn how to enroll and search for opportunities and events (one-time or ongoing). Come see how you can get involved in your community.\n\n \n\nMini Volunteer Experience:\n\nMAYP members will get to participate in a mini volunteer experience. Members will help assemble a sample of Wild About Kindergarten School Readiness Kits. These bags are given to every child who attends Kindergarten Round-Up each spring in the United Way of SW MN services area (26 schools/Approx. 1\,000 students). In each bag\, students receive a book\, dry erase board with dry erase marker\, notepad\, crayons\, scissor\, glue stick\, shape and cutting worksheets\, alphabet/number activity book and modeling clay. Resources for parents are also included in the bag. The goal is to encourage children and parents/caregivers to work on school readiness skills over the spring and summer for preparation for kindergarten in the fall.\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you to the Sleep Inn for sponsoring the 2015-16 Marshall Area Young Professional events!
